Questions, answered

Gold and silver rate today — common questions

What is the gold and silver rate today in India?

As of 13 October 2026 at 21:29 IST, 24K gold is ₹1,49,342 per 10 grams and 999 silver is ₹2,22,655 per kilogram, on All India Bullion's Mumbai (Zaveri Bazar) benchmark. In the units each metal is usually quoted in, that is ₹14,934 per gram of gold and ₹223 per gram of silver.

What is the 22 carat gold rate today?

22K (916 fineness) gold is ₹1,36,798 per 10 grams as of 13 October 2026 at 21:29 IST, or ₹13,680 per gram. 22K is the purity most Indian jewellery is made in; 24K is the investment-grade metal the rate is derived from.

What is the gold-silver ratio today?

The gold-silver ratio is 67.1 to 1 as of 13 October 2026 at 21:29 IST: one gram of 999 gold costs about as much as 67.1 grams of 999 silver. It is calculated from All India Bullion's own two reference rates. A high ratio means silver is cheap relative to gold, a low one means the reverse.

Which has moved more today, gold or silver?

Silver has moved further in percentage terms as of 13 October 2026 at 21:29 IST: gold is down 0.18% and silver is down 1.00% against the previous close. Silver usually swings wider than gold, because its market is smaller and about half its demand is industrial.

Should I buy gold or silver right now?

All India Bullion publishes rates and does not give investment advice. What the figures on this page can tell you is the relationship between the two: the gold-silver ratio shows which metal is historically expensive against the other, and the day-change figures show which is moving. Silver has the lower entry price and the wider swings; gold has the deeper market and the steadier demand. Which suits you depends on your horizon and how much volatility you are prepared to hold through.

Is GST the same on gold and silver?

Yes — 3% on the metal value for both, anywhere in India. Making charges on worked jewellery or articles are taxed separately at 5%. The rates on this page are metal reference rates before GST.

Why do gold and silver rates differ between cities?

The metal and the tax are identical nationwide, so the gaps come from local dealer spreads and the cost of moving and insuring metal into each market. The differences are wider for silver, which is bulky relative to its value. That is why this site publishes a live rate for each of 679 cities rather than one national number.
